Hiring Process in Call Center

You might be a fresh grad and your first job interview happens to be in a call center company. Or maybe, it’s just your first time to apply in a call center. You bravely submitted your resume either online or walked into the recruitment hub of the call center company. You might be wondering about what to expect in the hiring process.

Hiring process in most call centers is fast – oftentimes these companies offer one-day hiring process. There will be a lot of things that you should expect to happen within that day of hiring, of course. It’s going to be a long, but fulfilling day, once you get hired.

Step #1: Initial Interview. Here, the HR personnel will quickly review your resume and will look into the details of your previous employment and any other background. You will be asked with the basic questions like, if this is the first call center job, or the first time that you applied, or if you are willing to work on shifting schedules, including weekends and holidays. Of course, in order to proceed to the next step, you must know how to answer these questions properly.

Step #2: Written Assessment. This is actually a paperless examination, so you will be in front of the computer to answer questions that are mostly related to grammar, basic mathematics and logic. For some companies, this is time pressured, so make sure to answer them quickly but accurately. However, there are some companies that would allow you to take as much time as you need.

Step #3: Call Simulation. Not all companies have this in their hiring process. Basically, in this part, you are going to perform a mock call, to gauge on how well you speak with someone on the other line, on how well you answer the questions. All the answers are in front of you so all you need to do is read it.

Step #4: Final Interview. If you are able to reach this stage, congratulations! You are most likely hired, but still, you have to answer the questions in this stage properly and accurately. Usually, the one who conducts the interview during this stage is the operations manager of the campaign or vertical that you will be assigned to.

Those are the four steps of the application process in the call center. Go prepare that smart casual wear, be confident and do the hiring process from start to finish.
